white ladies pudding

  • A type of bread and butter pudding in which a well-buttered pie dish is sprinkled with desiccated coconut and filled with triangles of buttered crustless white bread over which is poured a light vanilla-flavoured custard, milk, eggs and sugar (8:2:1). This is then baked in a bain-marie at 160°C for about 90 minutes until set, turned out and eaten hot or cold.
