white light

Astronomy
- light containing a perfect or near-perfect mix of the colours of the visible spectrum appears white to the eye. By analogy a radio or other electromagnetic signal containing a broad mix of frequencies rather than a few spikes of favoured frequencies can also be termed white.
Electronics
- Light which is perceived to be similar to daylight. Such light has a balanced mixture of the various colors across the visible spectrum. Also called white radiation (2).

- electromagnetic or acoustic radiation whose energy or intensity per hertz is the same throughout a given frequency interval. An example is white noise.
