Wiedemann-Franz Law

Definition

Electronics

  • A law stating that the ratio of the thermal conductivity to the electrical conductivity is proportional to the temperature of a metal. This relationship is a result of both forms of conductivity involving the free electrons in the metal, with increases in temperature raising thermal conductivity while decreasing electrical conductivity, and vice versa.
