wigwam burner

Definition

Construction

  • A metal structure, shaped roughly like a Native American wigwam or tepee, in which mill wastes are burned. Although still used in some areas, such burners are being phased-out, partly because mill wastes are being utilized to a greater degree, and partly because the burners can be a major source of air pollution.
