  • Will Unwin's famous hostelry in London's Covent Garden,which became a meeting place for writers, wits, and theatrical peopleduring the Restoration and later. Also known as the Rose Tavern, theRussell Street Coffee house, and the Wits' Coffee House, the buildingstood on the corner of Bow Street and Russell Street. John Drydenand Dr Johnson were among the notables who frequented the after-theatergatherings in a room on the first floor.
