  • A rotating machine consisting of two glass disks which rotate in opposite directions, and which can produce high voltages of static electricity. Each disk has sectors of tin foil, along with brushes to collect the charge. Used, for instance, to charge Leyden jars, or for demonstrations of discharges across a gap.
