  • A grounding strip which is typically wrapped around a wrist on one side, and attached to the chassis of the device or piece of equipment being worked on the other, so as to properly channel any static electricity a person may carry or generate. Used, for instance, to prevent a user from harming sensitive computer components when performing tasks such as the installation additional RAM. Also called ESD wrist strap, or antistatic wrist strap.
