Y antenna

Definition

Electronics

  • A single-wire half-wave antenna whose impedance is matched to the characteristic impedance of the transmission line. The two leads of the transmission line are connected to the radiator, forming a Y shape, and since the antenna is not split, this also resembles a greek letter Δ (delta). Also spelled wye antenna. Also called Y-matched antenna, or delta-matched antenna.
